New York Giants Team Grades vs Cleveland Browns
Coaching Staff Grade: B+
The coaching staff had the team ready in most aspects of the game. The Giants defense dominated throughout the afternoon. Steve Spagnuolo had his group prepared and they showed up. They made it a nightmare afternoon for the Browns offense even with all of the passing yards that they piled up.
Special teams were solid as well. Coverage teams were much improved and outside of Rainey’s muffed punt and Gould’s miss things were well. There is nothing scheme wise the Giants coaching staff could have done to improve that. Whoever decided to go to Beckham Jr. as the punt return man should receive some kudos as he performed in the role.
Ben McAdoo has the team with an 8-3 record but he has some things to fix on his offense. How Sterling Shepard is not targeted in the passing game, especially against a team like this, cannot happen. Roger Lewis Jr. should never out-target Shepard. He needs to try sticking to the run game. It has not been working but the Giants abandon it too willingly at times.

The Giants seemed to be looking past the Browns a little bit as their remaining schedule is daunting. McAdoo has to get the offense on track to help take some pressure off the defense. Getting the run game going is paramount and as the offensive play caller that falls on McAdoo’s shoulders.
