The New York Giants will have to overcome injuries to the offensive line but will be getting Victor Cruz back in the lineup vs the Chicago Bears.

The New York Giants will look to keep the momentum going against the Chicago Bears in Week 11. The Giants enter the game on a four-game winning streak, coming off a strong victory over the Cicinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football. If the Giants want to continue their winning streak they will have to overcome some issues with the offensive line.

The Giants offensive line has been a topic of discussion all season long. They were considered the only thing holding back the Giants offense. They have played adequately, but their thin depth has been tested.

Right tackle Marshall Newhouse missed time earlier in the season, pushing Bobby Hart into the starting lineup. Newhouse will now be back in the starting lineup, but this time at left guard. It will be Newhouse’s first start there in his career because the Giants have been hit hard there by injury.

Starter Justin Pugh was hurt in the game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He injured hid MCL in his knee and was given a 2-4 week timetable to return. His backup, Brett Jones, didn’t make it through one game before going down as well.

More from New York Giants

Jones injured his calf in his first career start against the Bengals this past week. He, along with Pugh, are both listed as out, pushing Newhouse into the staring lineup again. The Giants are expected to go with Ereck Flowers, Newhouse, Weston Richburg, John Jerry, and Hart from left tackle to right tackle against the Bears.

In addition to Pugh and Jones, Adam Gettis is listed as questionable. Gettis was added to the active roster last week as insurance but was also injured against the Bengals. The Giants signed Shane McDermott to the active roster in case Gettis cannot go. Linebacker Deontae Skinner was waived in a corresponding move.

One player missing from the injury report is wide receiver, Victor Cruz. Cruz missed Monday night’s game with an ankle injury he suffered against the Eagles. He is expected to be back in the lineup and ready to assume a full role.

“When [Cruz] returns I expect him to be a big part of what we’re doing in the receiving room,” coach Ben McAdoo said. On Friday Cruz also added, “To come back refreshed and ready to go this week is a good feeling.”

Cruz will more than likely continue splitting reps with Dwayne Harris, who was also left off the injury report after dealing with a toe injury. Roger Lewis Jr. was also being worked into the gameplan, but had a rough night Monday and his role is in question going forward. He was benched against the Bengals in favor of Tavarres King.

The only other player listed on the injury report was running back Orleans Darkwa. He is dealing with a lower leg injury and is listed as questionable. Darkwa has not been a factor offensively with rookie Paul Perkins seeing his role increase next to Rashad Jennings. Darkwa remains a key piece to the Giants special teams despite the diminished role offensively.
