The New York Giants picked up an important victory over their NFC East division rival Philadelphia Eagles in Week 9. The Giants defeated the Eagles 28-23, moving their record to 5-3 on the season. The Eagles fell to 4-4 with the loss, as the Giants moved into sole possession of the top Wild Card spot.

It was a big game for the Giants coming off their bye. They are now riding a three-game winning streak and are gaining momentum as we enter the second half of the season. With the next two games at MetLife Stadium, the Giants have a good chance to add a couple more wins to their record.

More from New York Giants

The Giants used some new schemes and personnel against the Eagles and they paid off with a victory. They worked some of the younger guys more into the gameplan to try giving a jolt to the units and it worked.

It was a solid team effort as the Giants got contributions from all facets of the game. The offense took advantage of opportunities provided to them by the defense and the defense stepped up when needed most. The Giants are far from a finished product but they are taking steps in the right direction.

The victory against the Eagles was definitely a good building block to that. Check out our grades from the Giants victory over the Eagles this past weekend as they now prepare to take on the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday Night Football.
