Quarterback

Grade: F

Quarterback has been a disaster for the Jets all season. Ryan Fitzpatrick has struggled for a majority of the season and as a result, the offense has cratered. Fitzpatrick had a two-game stretch in which he threw nine interceptions, including a six-interception game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Had Fitzpatrick been able to shave even three or four interceptions off that total an argument could be made that the Jets would have won at least one of those games. The Jets actually benched Fitzpatrick after another dismal outing on Monday Night Football against the Arizona Cardinals.

Geno Smith took his spot but was injured in his first start against the Baltimore Ravens. Fitzpatrick came on in relief and picked up the victory. With Smith tearing his ACL, Fitzpatrick is back under center for good or bad.

On the season Fitzpatrick is completing 56.1 percent of his passes, throwing for 1,789 yards and seven touchdowns compared to 11 interceptions. For the Jets to truly have a chance at turning things around they will need much better play from Fitzpatrick, but there is no guarantee that will happen. At least it doesn’t look like it can get worse.
