The New York Giants had a bye in Week 8. After a full week of rest, the team will now get ready for their final nine games of the season.

The way the schedule worked out for them, the New York Giants had their bye almost exactly halfway into the season. They’ve played seven games so far and have a record of 4-3. The team has a legitimate chance to win 10 games this year, which might be enough to secure them a playoff spot. It all depends on how they play over the next nine weeks.

Coming off of the bye week, the Giants have a tough contest at home against the Philadelphia Eagles. This will be an important divisional game. The Eagles are currently 4-3. Both teams are two games behind the Dallas Cowboys for first place in the NFC East.

If the Giants were able to beat Philadelphia, it would boost their chances of winning the division. They’ve already beaten Dallas this year. Giants quarterback Eli Manning will need to have his team ready for this tough matchup against a solid Eagles team.

After the Eagles, the Giants will have another home game. They will face the Cincinnati Bengals  on Monday Night Football in Week 10. Right now, the Bengals are 3-4-1. They have already played two NFC East teams. Cincinnati lost to the Cowboys back in Week 5 and tied with the Washington Redskins on Sunday. Even though the Bengals haven’t had the best season, quarterback Andy Dalton is still a threat to have a big game with wide receiver A.J. Green.

The Giants’ homestand will continue in Week 11 when they welcome the Chicago Bears. The Bears only have two wins on the season after defeating the Minnesota Vikings this week on Monday Night Football. This actually isn’t the easiest game on the Giants’ schedule, however. The week after they play the Bears, the team will travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns. At 0-8, the Browns are the only remaining winless team in the NFL.

The schedule gets much tougher after this. In Week 13, the Giants will play the Pittsburgh Steelers in Pittsburgh. Ben Roethlisberger is always a difficult quarterback to face, especially in his own building. This might very well be the hardest remaining game on the schedule for the Giants.

After Pittsburgh, the Giants will return home to face the Dallas Cowboys. Back in Week 1, the Giants escaped Dallas with a victory when they beat Dak Prescott‘s team 20-19. This will undoubtedly be an extremely important divisional game, especially considering that it will take place in Week 14.

Following that game, the Giants will play the Detroit Lions in what will be their final home game of the regular season. They Lions are currently 4-4, so there’s a chance that this game could have NFC Wild Card implications.

The Giants will then finish up their season on the road against two NFC East opponents. In Week 16, they’ll face the Eagles for the second time. Like the matchup against Dallas in Week 14, this game will most likely have important divisional ramifications. This matchup will take place on a Thursday night, so both teams will have a short work to prepare.

Finally, the Giants will play the Washington Redskins to finish the year. The Redskins beat the Giant 29-27 in East Rutherford back in Week 3.
