The New York Giants were very opportunistic against the Los Angeles Rams, leading to a victory in London.

The New York Giants were able to pick up a victory over the Los Angeles Rams in Week 7. The Giants looked sluggish to start, as they didn’t look as fresh as the Rams; the Giants didn’t leave for London until Thursday, the Rams left for London right from their game last week.

The Giants offense was unable to shake those early cobwebs, as they gained only 232 total yards. But, the defense was able to pick them up throughout the afternoon, as they took advantage of Rams miscues throughout the game. Unlike the offense, the defense was able to wake up after a slow start.

The offense did the defense no favors in the early going. Larry Donnell fumbled on the second play of the game, setting the Rams up in the Giants zone. They would convert a touchdown, as Case Keenum found Tavon Austin for a 10-yard touchdown.

Following another short Giants’ drive, the Rams once again moved down the field. They had to settle for a 36-yard field goal but held a 10-0 lead. With the offense looking anemic, the defense took things into their own hands.

10 points would be all the Rams’ offense would muster. The Giants’ defense woke up after that and started taking advantage of what is overall a poor Rams offense.

Following a Robbie Gould field goal, Landon Collins came up with an interception of Keenum. He had an impressive return which resulted in a 44-yard touchdown. The momentum was swinging the Giants way and they would ride that throughout the remainder of the game.

There were 11 consecutive drives that ended in punts before Collins got his hands on a Keenum pass again. It was deflected once again and Collins was the man on the spot. He didn’t have a miraculous return this time, but the Giants were able to convert this one into a touchdown.

Up 17-10, the Giants would continue causing havoc and taking advantage. They would finish the game with three interceptions on the final three Rams drives. Following the one by Collins, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie had two of his own, both in the end zone. The first he intercepted on a pass intended for Austin, the second a heave from Keenum that looked like a punt in which Brian Quick looked to give up on the play.

The Giants also sacked Keenum three times, as they were able to take advantage of Rams inability to pass protect. That, combined with Keenum’s inability to  protect the ball, resulted in easy opportunities for the Giants to take advantage of.
