The New York Giants were able to get a win across the pond on Sunday morning. The superb performance by their defense helped lead the team to victory.

The New York Giants defeated the Los Angeles Rams 17-10 on Sunday in London. It was mainly a defensive-oriented game, as the Giants won the turnover battle 4-1 in the win.

The game did not start off well for the Giants. On the second play of their first drive of the game, tight end Larry Donnell fumbled and the Rams recovered the ball. With great starting field position, the Rams drove down the field easily and scored on a Case Keenum 10-yard touchdown pass to Tavon Austin. The Giants couldn’t get anything going on their next drive and were forced to punt. The Rams then drove deep into Giants territory but had to settle for a field goal.

It wasn’t until the middle of the second quarter that the Giants were finally able to get on the board. Robbie Gould kicked a 29-yard field goal to make the score 10-3. The game then quickly turned around. On the second play of the next drive, Giants safety

On the second play of the next drive, Giants safety Landon Collins intercepted a tipped pass by Keenum and returned it 44 yards for a touchdown. This huge play tied up the game and swung the momentum in the Giants’ favor.

Neither team scored during the rest of the first half. There wasn’t much action in the third quarter, as both teams were forced to punt multiple times.

Early in the fourth quarter, the Giants defense came up with another big play when Collins picked off Keenum for the second time. This interception gave the Giants great starting field position in Los Angeles territory. Quarterback Eli Manning drove the team down the field, and they ended up taking the lead on a Rashad Jennings 1-yard touchdown run.

The Rams drove into Giants territory on their next possession, but Keenum threw another interception. This time, Giants cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie picked off the pass. Keenum was trying to find Austin in the end zone, but unfortunately for him, Rodgers-Cromartie was covering him well.

Los Angeles had one final chance however. After the Giants couldn’t get anything going on offense, they punted. Once again, Keenum drove his team down the field. This time, he was able to get the Rams inside the red zone.

His rough day continued though as he threw a fourth interception. Keenum lobbed a pass up into the end zone, but no Rams wide receiver was anywhere near the ball. Instead, Rodgers-Cromartie was there and easily had his second interception. It was by far Keenum’s worst throw of the day and sealed the victory for the Giants.

Even though the offense did not have a great game, the Giants were still able to escape London with a win. The defense really stepped up and was the real difference in the game. Not only did this unit have four interceptions, but they also sacked Keenum three times.

The defense has been the strength for the Giants so far this season. It will need to continue to be this good if the Giants want to make the playoffs this year.
