Wide reciever Odell Beckham Jr. could find his name in the record books multiple times Sunday when the New York Giants host the Washington Redskins.

Odell Beckham Jr. has taken the NFL by storm since the New York Giants selected him 12th overall in 2014. Beckham Jr. missed the first four games of his NFL career with a hamstring injury, but has more than made up for it since.

Beckham Jr. has quickly become one of the best wide receivers in football, constantly making plays for the Giants. He and Eli Manning developed a rapport right away, putting up some eye-popping statistics.

While the Giants haven’t experienced much success in the win-loss column yet with Beckham Jr. on the team, things are looking good this season. The Giants are already 2-0 with victories over the Dallas Cowboys and New Orleans Saints.

The team looks much improved, as the defense has given up only one touchdown in two games. They have been stout against the run as well, allowing only 142 yards and 3.3 yards per carry. What has arguably been the most surprising is that the Giants have won those games with very little help, at least by his standards, from Beckham Jr.

More from New York Giants

In two games, Beckham Jr. has been targeted 19 times, reeling in 12 receptions for 159 yards and zero touchdowns. For the first time in a long time Beckham Jr. is not leading the team in yards and touchdowns, as that honor currently belongs to rookie Sterling Shepard.

But, Shepard has a long way to go if he wants to match Beckham Jr.’s production. While he has had a slower start than anticipated to his season, Beckham Jr. has a chance to turn things around in a big way against the Washington Redskins in Week 3 and break some records as well.

Beckham Jr. is currently one reception away from 200 from his career. If he gets that reception on Sunday against the Redskins, he will become the quickest receiver in NFL history to reach that milestone. Beckham Jr.’s former teammate at LSU and current Miami Dolphins’ wide receiver Jarvis Landry currently holds the record; it took him 33 games to catch 200 passes.

That is not the only record that Beckham Jr. is looking to break against the Redskins. Beckham needs 86 yards to reach 3,000 for his career. If he is able to reach that mark, it will make him the quickest player to 3,000 yards in a career as well. The current record is held by Charley Hennigan, who did it with the Houston Oilers in the 1960’s.

If you are a betting person, smart money would be on Beckham Jr. breaking both records against the Redskins. He has reached at least 86 yards receiving in 18 of 29 games in his career, including last week against the New Orleans Saints. Also, Beckham Jr. owns the Redskins in his career.

In three games against the Redskins, Beckham Jr. has dominated. He has averaged 121.3 yards per game to go along with five touchdowns. Having Josh Norman lining up against him could give him, even more, incentive, as he will look to exact some revenge from last season’s fiasco. The two were flagged a combined five times, with Beckham Jr. receiving a one-game suspension for his role in the altercation.
