The New York Giants will be playing their second preseason game tonight against the Buffalo Bills. They will be looking for their first win of the preseason, as they lost to the Miami Dolphins in Week 1. The Bills enter the game 0-1 as well, losing to the Indianapolis Colts 19-18.

While the Giants were blown out by the Dolphins 27-10, there were some encouraging things to take away from the game. As the score indicates, there were also some negative things that occurred, as the offense stumbled after the first drive of the night.

As a result, the Giants will be evaluating players still for open spots in the lineup. There are some starting spots, such as free safety and middle linebacker, up for grabs. There is also the Victor Cruz quagmire.

More from New York Giants

Cruz is battling injuries once again, this time with a tight groin. Cruz made the trip to Buffalo, along with injured rookie Eli Apple, but both are expected to sit out. Unlike Apple, Cruz’s roster spot is in real jeopardy. Unable to get on the field, this is one less chance for Cruz to show the Giants what he has left in the tank.

Because of that, opportunities will be available to other players to leapfrog Cruz into more prominent roles. That will be yet another one of the things to keep an eye on tonight, as the other wide receivers have nothing to lose; they’ll impress and move up, or just stay where they are on the depth chart.

What else should we be keeping an eye on today against the Bills? Here are six players and units to keep an eye on when the Giants and Bills take the field.
