Looking for the New York Jets vs. Washington Redskins game tonight? We have you covered with all the information that you will need.

The New York Jets will continue their preseason tonight against the Washington Redskins. They will look to move to 2-0 in the exhibition games, while the Redskins will be looking for their first victory.

The Jets defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars in their first game 17-13, while the Redskins fell to the Atlanta Falcons 23-17. Since it is the second preseason game, we should see a little more of the starters than we did last week.

The Jets’ starters were unable to do much against the Jaguars, but the backups had some standouts. Sixth round pick Charone Peake caught four passes for 45 yards, including a touchdown from Geno Smith. Romar Morris had 13 touches as he tried to earn a spot on the 53-man roster as well.

Undrafted rookie Jalin Marshall and Jeremy Ross were explosive in the run game, also providing offensively. The preseason is a time to watch backups and see who can earn a roster spot, which is why everyone will be watching Smith and Bryce Petty.

More from New York Jets

While Smith is the backup quarterback, there are many people clamoring for Petty to take the job. With no regular season experience, Petty will have to tear up the preseason if he wants to unseat Smith. It is worth keeping an eye on as Smith has seemed to unravel at times during practice this past week.

It will be telling once the second team comes in how much Smith and Petty play. Smith has the job, but he is doing very little to instill confidence in the coaching staff or fan base. Backup quarterback shouldn’t be the biggest topic for an NFL team, but the Jets have a knack for it; remember the Tim Tebow saga?

While many people will focus on that, the Jets have other players to watch. The return man and final wide receiver spot between Peake, Marshall and Ross is fun. The Jets have Dee Milliner, a former top-10 pick, fighting for playing time and a roster spot. There is more to watch than a backup quarterback competition that isn’t truly a competition.

After tonight’s game, we are officially halfway through the preseason and one step closer to the regular season. Can’t find the game? We have all the information you need to watch or listen tonight.
