New York Knicks: 6 Games To Circle On 2016-17 Schedule
Saturday, October 29th vs. Memphis Grizzlies
The home opener is always an exciting time for NBA teams. It is the first time to play a meaningful game in front of your fans, and the first chance to see the new players at Madison Square Garden.
The place will be rocking, as it will be the first time that the fans will get to see the likes of Rose, Noah, and Lee join Anthony and Kristaps Porzingis in the starting lineup. It will also be the first game for new head coach Jeff Hornacek on the sidelines of the World’s Greatest Arena.
This will be a tough test for the Knicks, as the Grizzlies made a number of signings in the offseason as well to improve their roster. They signed Chandler Parsons to a max deal, putting him in the starting lineup alongside Mike Conley, the owner of the most lucrative contract in NBA history, Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph.
The Grizzlies also have a new head coach manning the sidelines, as they snatched David Fizdale away from the Miami Heat bench this offseason, replacing Dave Joerger. This will be a good early season test for the Knicks, as the Grizzlies have made the postseason in the Western Conference for six consecutive seasons.
