Tuesday, October 25th @ Cleveland Cavaliers

The first game of the season for the Knicks will be at Quicken Loans Arena against the reigning champion Cavaliers. The Cavaliers will probably have a ceremony before the game, revealing their banner and receiving their championship rings for defeating the Golden State Warriors in last season’s NBA Finals.

This will put the Knicks in a hostile environment, as the crowd will undoubtedly be a raucous one. It is always much watch television as well when LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony are facing off on the court together.

The long-time rivals and best friends always make for good matchups, and this time, it will be no different. The Knicks will also see some familiar faces, as J.R. Smith is expected to re-sign with the Cavaliers, and Iman Shumpert is still with the team after the two were traded there during the 2014-15 season.

This will be an excellent measuring stick game for the Knicks, as they will be facing the cream of the crop in the Eastern Conference. The Knicks could challenge for a top spot in the Eastern Conference if everything goes according to plan, and if they are going to accomplish that goal playing well with the Cavaliers would be a good start.
