New York Giants Geremy Davis A Player To Watch
New York Giants second-year wide receiver Geremy Davis is someone to keep an eye on during training camp as he looks to move up the depth chart.
The New York Giants have been practicing at training camp for less than two weeks, but there are already players standing out over others. One of the positions providing numerous highlights is the wide receiver group.
Depending on who you talk to, this will not come as a surprise as Odell Beckham Jr. has cemented himself as one of the premier talents in the NFL at the position. But, unlike last season, he looks to have some help.
While second round pick Sterling Shepard has received a ton of praise, and rightfully so, there are other players that are stepping up at the position as well. While people will keep an eye on Victor Cruz to see how he is progressing, his replacement during drills, Geremy Davis, is someone to watch as well.
Davis was a sixth-round pick for the Giants last season, appearing in 10 regular season games, catching two passes for 21 yards. He looks poised to make an impact this season, as he has been running with the No.1 offense whenever Cruz needs a breather, and taking full advantage of the opportunity.

Jordan Ranaan of ESPN says that Davis looks improved over last season, much like he did last year. But, Davis would taper off as the summer wore on; but, with his improvements, he could make an impact all the way through training camp and the preseason games this season.
With Beckham Jr. sitting out because of a leg injury, there is ample opportunities for other players to showcase their talent higher up on the depth chart. Davis is one of those players, as Ranaan said he has made a couple of impressive catches thus far in practice, one of which game against this year’s first round pick Eli Apple.
Davis worked with the No.1 offense throughout the spring, and he looks to have carried that momentum over into the early part of the summer as well. Davis was viewed as someone that could fill the same type of role that David Tyree played for the Giants; a special teams ace that could contribute offensively when called upon.
Davis was described as some as a poor man’s Kevin White, who was selected seventh overall last season. While White didn’t get on the field during his rookie season, the Giants would love to have someone with that skill set on their roster at receiver.

While they will not be relying on Davis as the Bears are relying on White, Davis is still someone to keep an eye on as camp progresses as he is someone that the team likes and has confidence in.
