General manager Jerry Reese also stepped to the podium for questions. To open the media session, he discussed the change in the strength and conditioning program along with the upgrades at the training facility.

As for the players, the Giants general manager seemed impressed with defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul’s work ethic. He watched the seventh-year pro return to form without the cumbersome club on his damaged right hand.

In a macro sense, Reese said he felt the need to upgrade the pass rush to close out football games, which probably led to Pierre-Paul’s re-signing and Olivier Vernon’s huge five-year, $85 million contract with $52.5 million guaranteed, per spotrac.com.

The Giants’ front office also signed defensive tackle Damon Harrison to fortify the defensive line and hopefully show tougher resistance to the ground attack. The team finished last in run defense in the previous season.

With three practices in the books, what stands out most? We’ll delve into a few storylines buzzing around Giants’ camp, starting with McAdoo’s philosophy on utilizing his rookie players.
