– Anders Lee

One of the players that have been poised to breakout in recent seasons for the Islanders is forward Anders Lee. When the Islanders made the postseason in the 2014-15 season, Lee was one of the best rookies in the NHL, as his gritty play in front of the net helped him get some hard-earned goals.

In his rookie season, Lee wore down as the season went on and struggled in the playoffs against the Washington Capitals. In five games, Lee totaled just one assist, as it wasn’t the same player that we saw during the regular season.

Last season, Lee once again played very well for the Islanders, as he was sixth on the team in total points. Unfortunately, Lee was injured just before the start of the playoffs and was unable to play in either series for the Islanders. The loss of Lee did affect the Islanders’ offense, as his big body would have been useful in front of the net.

Lee has been a good goal-scorer in for the Islanders so far, and he might be poised for a big season in his third full season in the NHL. Hopefully, Lee will be playing important games in the playoff for the Islanders, as he has had some bad luck come postseason time.
