Aaron Brooks

Like Augustin, Brooks is well traveled, playing for five different franchises with two separate stints with the Houston Rockets. Brooks didn’t play much with the Bulls last season as their third guard, but he could be a big help on the second unit for the Knicks.

He would be a solid veteran for the Knicks to add to their roster. He is a good strong three-point shooter, knocking down 37 percent from beyond the arc in his career. He could be the sixth man for the Knicks off the bench as their backup guard and someone able to give them a scoring punch with the second unit.

Brooks could find it difficult to land a starting job, but he would find an open path to plenty of playing time with the Knicks. Like Augustin, Brooks thrived when he was in a backup role behind Rose during the 2014-15 season, when he averaged 11.6 and 3.2 assists in 23 minutes per game.

It is imperative the Knicks find a backup that is not only comfortable coming off the bench, but can start in a pinch as well. Brooks is capable, as he thrived when a starter with the Houston Rockets in 2009-10 when he started all 82 games and averaged 19.6 points and 5.3 assists per game.
