3. Jorge Posada

In an era with Derek Jeter, Andy Pettitte, and Mariano Rivera, it is easy to overlook Jorge Posada as the final member of the famous “Core 4”. Posada played his entire 17-year career with the Yankees and has put himself into the history books as one of the best hitting catchers of all-time.

In 17 seasons, Posada totaled a .273 batting average, 275 home runs, and 1,065 RBIs. Out of every catcher wear the pinstripes, Posada is ranked second in home runs and third in RBIs for his career as a Yankee.

During the early 2000s, Posada made the All-Star team four straight seasons and was also the silver slugger during those years. If there is a flaw to Posada’s great resume, it is that he did see a drop in his production in the postseason. In 125 postseason games, Posada totaled a .248 batting average, 11 home runs, and 42 RBIs.

During one of the most dominant stretches in franchise history, Posada was the man behind the plate for the Yankees, as he won a total of four World Series. With a lot of individual and team success, Posada will go down as one of the best catchers in the history of the franchise, and a key member of a dynasty team.
