Indiana Offensive Tackle Jason Spriggs

The Giants had to be disappointed when Jack Conklin went off the board two spots before they were set to pick. Offensive line is still a major need for the Giants, as they need to plug someone in on the right side. Spriggs could fill that hole right away.

There were some people that believed that Spriggs potential would move him up boards, but he is still available with Round 2 set to get underway tonight. Spriggs is one of the more athletic offensive lineman in this class, recording the fastest 40-yard dash and broad jump, while having the second best short shuttle time.

Spriggs will need some coaching up to reach his potential, as there is talent but some of his fundamentals could use work. He sometimes gets stood up too often, lessening his impact run blocking. He has above average upper body strength, he just has to learn how to better put it to use.

With some coaching Spriggs could develop into a strong offensive tackle. His above average athleticism helps, and he flashes the potential to be an amazing pass blocker. He also has the qualities that the Giants like in their draft prospects, as he was a four-year starter and team captain, so he brings experience and leadership to the table.

While he may not be as highly regarded as Conklin, he could fit right in as the starting right tackle from Day 1 for the Giants, giving them yet another building block on the offensive line along with Ereck Flowers, Justin Pugh and Weston Richburg.
