New York Knicks Takeaways From Loss vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
Player Of The Game: Lance Thomas
With Carmelo Anthony sidelined, the Knicks got Lance Thomas back from his three-game absence from a knee ailment. It was perfect timing, as Thomas stepped into the starting small forward spot and played an excellent game.
Thomas always brings a little extra against his old team, and tonight was no different. Thomas brought a ton of energy and versatility to the starting lineup, as he seemed to be involved in almost every play. He finished the game with 16 points, four rebounds, one assists, one steal and one block as his intangibles were on full display.
The Knicks looked like a different team with Thomas off the court in the last three games, so it was encouraging to see him come back in the fold and pick right up where he left off production wise. Despite fouling out, he played a team high 41 minutes, which shows how much trust the coaching staff has in him and how important he is to their schemes.
Thomas should continue seeing starters minutes as long as Anthony is sidelined, and you can be sure he will continue bringing the energy and versatility we saw tonight.
