Player Of The Game: Carmelo Anthony

Carmelo Anthony has had his struggles against the Bucks this season. They have a lot of length on the wings in Khris Middleton and Giannis Antetokounmpo and athletic players at the rim such as John Henson. They also double-team Anthony a ton, which forces him into tough shots if he is not trusting his teammates.

Those tough shots has been something we saw a lot of in the past from Anthony, but he is looking like a different player this season and that continued tonight against the Bucks. Coming into tonight’s game Anthony had been shooting 32.7 percent against the Bucks, averaging 15.3 points per game. He also had only five rebounds per game, but had solid assist numbers with four per game. He blew all of those marks away tonight to help get the Knicks a victory.

Anthony finished the game with a team-high 24 points on 10-of-16 from the field, also leading the team with 10 rebounds and eight assists. It was an outstanding all around game for Anthony who also continued his stellar play defensively, helping to hold Antetokounmpo only eight points while picking up another one of his swipe blocks.

Anthony is growing into his leadership role with this team and it is awesome to see. He also finished tonight with an impressive +24 plus/minus ratio as the Knicks were rolling whenever he was on the court.
