Player Of The Game: Carmelo Anthony

In a game against another superstar, the Knicks needed their best player to step up, and that is exactly what Carmelo Anthony did. He led the way with 29 points on an efficient 11-of-21 from the field. He made 1-of-5 from deep and 6-of-7 from the foul line to have a strong afternoon. It was the fifth consecutive game that he made at least 40 percent of his shots from the field and at least 24 points scored; he looks to finally be breaking out of his early season slumber.

Also encouraging was the work that Anthony did on the boards. He helped the Knicks to a 41-36 advantage on the glass, adding 13 of his own. 12 of them came on the defensive end of the floor, which helps immensely when trying to end defensive possessions.

He also added a team-high tying three assists and one steal to have a solid all around game. As long as Anthony keeps scoring like this, the Knicks offense will continue to have a good flow and they should be able to hang with any team in the NFL.
