The Redskins were able to capitalize on the Jets’ turnover with a touchdown pass to Pierre Garcon. The Jets’ offense would answer back on their next drive with a touchdown drive of their own. Chris Ivory would start his big day with a one-yard rushing touchdown to tie the game on the drive.

After a Redskins’ punt, the Jets would take the lead after a long drive that resulted in a chip shot field goal from Nick Folk which gave the Jets a 10-7 lead.

The Jets would make another mistake after the Redskins punted, as Brandon Marshall was held up and had the ball ripped away from him. The Redskins would once again capitalize on a turnover, as they kicked a field goal to tie the game.

After the fumble by Marshall, the Jets were once again moving the ball very well down the field, but a poor throw by Ryan Fitzpatrick resulted in an interception and gave the Redskins good field position shortly before the half. With a short field before the half, the Redskins were able to once again score off a Jets turnover, as the Redskins kicked a field goal to take a 13-10 lead into the half.

In the second half, the Jets set the tone early one with a field goal on their opening drive, which was followed by an interception by Darrelle Revis. With a large lead late in the game, the Jets did get a sloppy, as Folk missed a field goal and then the Redskins also blocked a punt for a touchdown. The special teams for the Jets weren’t very good in the win, and it is something that will surely be addressed by Bowles during the week.

It was very important for the Jets to overcome their first half mistakes against the Redskins, as their defense holding the Redskins to just 13 points off of the three turnovers was very important.

Next week will be a huge game for the Jets, as we will see where they stand against the New England Patriots.
