On the Giants’ first drive of the game, they were able to go 35 yards which resulted in a 47-yard field goal for Josh Brown.
Working with a short field, the Bills were able to tie the game at 3-3 with a 51-yard field goal from Dan Carpenter.
After a Devon Kennard interception on a pass intended for tight end Charles Clay, the Giants were able to capitalize on the short field. Eli Manning would throw his first touchdown pass of the game to Dwyane Harris. A missed extra-point by Josh Brown resulted in the Giants leading 9-3 after the touchdown.
On the Giants’ next possession, they would have their best drive of the first half which went 76 yards and resulted in an 11-yard touchdown pass to Rueben Randle.
Both offenses would be stagnant in the third quarter, as the Bills continued to struggle against the Giants’ defense. In the fourth quarter, Buffalo finally made some noise with a 23-yard touchdown pass from Tyrod Taylor to Karlos Williams.
After the Bills’ first touchdown of the game, the Giants answered right back to regain a two-touchdown lead. A short pass to Rashad Jennings led to a 51-yard touchdown catch, as he was able to make a few tacklers miss on his way to a touchdown.
With plenty of time to make a comeback, a fumble by Robert Woods fighting for extra yards hurt the Bills’ momentum.
The Giants were given great field position, but an interception by Manning once again made things a little more interesting than they needed to be for the Giants late in the game. The Bills were unable to get the big play they needed, as a touchdown pass to Charles Clay was called back because of a chop block.
Sunday’s game was a great win for the Giants, as they move to 2-2 on the season in the weak NFC East.
The Giants’ defense really rose to the occasion in the upset win, as they were able to control Buffalo on the ground. Williams and Taylor combined to total just 55 rushing yards, as the Giants’ defense is proving to be very good against the run.
After two tough losses to start the season, the Giants have rebounded very nicely to reach the .500 mark.
