Two of the most notable signings in the entire NFL this offseason was the return of Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie to New York. Revis didn’t stick with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and then wasn’t re-signed by the New England Patriots after helping them win a Super Bowl in 2014.
Cromartie has also had success since leaving the Jets, as he was a Pro Bowler with the Arizona Cardinals, and his defensive coordinator was new Jets head coach Todd Bowles.
Last season, the Jets’ secondary was an absolute mess with injuries and a lack of talent due major failures by former general manager John Idzik. With the additions of Revis and Cromartie, the Jets are expected to have a shutdown secondary, and that will start in Week 1.
The Browns will be starting Josh McCown in Week 1 against the Jets, and that will mean the Jets will have opportunities to intercept passes with McCown’s poor track record.
Both Revis and Cromartie will be making their presence felt against McCown and the Browns, as they will make in impact in their return to New York.
Prediction: Revis and Cromartie each have one INT
