– Fitzpatrick stays mistake-free

One of the most important things for the Jets on offense this season will be to limit the turnovers. The upgrades made on the defensive side of the ball should keep the Jets in almost every game they play in, and they may even help put points on the board.

In recent years with Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith as the quarterbacks there have been plenty of turnovers. They were both young quarterbacks making mistakes, but now the Jets have a veteran under center.

Ryan Fitzpatrick was splendid at protecting the football last season, as he totaled just eight interceptions in 2014 with the Houston Texans. The Jets don’t need Fitzpatrick to throw for 300 passing yards against the Browns to earn the victory, as just a game with no mistakes can accomplish the Jets’ goal of getting a win.

In Sunday’s game, Fitzpatrick will likely be a game-manager, as he still becomes familiar as the team’s starting quarterback. No mistakes from Fitzpatrick will help the Jets win their home-opener.

Prediction: No turnovers for Fitzpatrick
