27. Philadelphia Phillies (52-79) If the Phillies didn’t have to face the Mets, their season would look a lot better than it is. After getting swept away with relative ease to start the week and putting their season record at 1-12 against their division rivals, the Phillies picked things up and took two of three from the Padres over the weekend. The Mets missed Aaron Nola, the only pitcher that has been able to give the Phillies any type of production. He has given them more than they could ask for, as he stymied the Padres through seven innings, giving up only one run. That is the only run he has given up in his last 17 ⅔ innings.

26. Colorado Rockies (52-76) The Rockies had a solid road trip this past week. They took a series from the Braves before losing one to the Pirates, sending them back home with a 3-3 record. The same problems still persisted though, as they just cannot hit as well on the road as they do at Coors Field; they also still can’t figure out how to hit a lefty with much success. Two players the place of play doesn’t seem to affect are Carlos Gonzalez and Nolan Arenado; both just keep hitting home runs and driving in runs respectively despite the ineffectiveness of their teammates.

25. Milwaukee Brewers (55-75) The Brewers were swept by the red-hot Indians, but were able to take down the Reds in two of three games over the weekend; it could have been a sweep had not for Francisco Rodriguez imploding on Saturday night. Taylor Jungmann got back on track against the Reds after having a rough start against the Nationals last weekend. This team is just playing out the stretch run of the season, but at least there are things to get fans excited heading into the offseason such as some young pitchers and Ryan Braun taking down franchise records.
