With the dog days of summer upon us, that means that New York Knicks basketball is quickly approaching. With the 2015-16 schedule being released Tuesday, the Knicks are mere weeks away from beginning training camp. It will be the first step to starting anew after a disastrous 2014-15 season in which the Knicks won a franchise low 17 games.
In the second season under Derek Fisher the Knicks will be looking to turn things around as they get a better grasp of the triangle offense and schemes Fisher installed. Not only that, but Carmelo Anthony has some new teammates that will surely deliver better results for the Knicks in the win-loss column.

Wednesday, October 28th @ Milwaukee Bucks
What kind of slideshow would this be if the season opener didn’t make it? Every team, including the Knicks, is full of optimism and confidence as everyone starts on even ground. The Knicks will be opening their 2015-16 campaign on the road against the Milwaukee Bucks in what is a bigger matchup than people may first realize.
First off, it is expected that this will be the first time Carmelo Anthony gets back on the court for the Knicks since opting for surgery following the All-Star break last season. He will not be the only big named player returning from injury, as 2014 second overall pick Jabari Parker is expected to return from his ACL tear as well. The Bucks are one of the up-and-coming teams in the NBA and Parker is a big reason for that optimism, as he will be joining a team that made a surprise appearance as the sixth seed in the NBA Playoffs last season.

This will also be the Knicks first chance to play against Greg Monroe, who spurned them in free agency. In a move that surprised many people, Monroe opted against the bright lights of New York and Los Angeles in favor of Milwaukee. How often can a person say they would rather be in Milwaukee than New York or Los Angeles? Monroe can say that, as he said the Bucks were the closest to competing of the teams that courted him.
The Knicks will be out to show him that he made the wrong the decision by starting his Bucks career off on a sour note opening night. It will also be the beginning of a tough start to the season for the Knicks, who play teams that qualified for last season’s playoffs the first six games of the season.
