Coming into the four-game set, these are two teams heading in opposite directions. While the Rockies playoff hopes are slim to none, and they are in the process of evaluating players, the Mets are in the midst of a playoff race. While we saw this past weekend the Rockies are more than capable of playing the spoiler role, they will not be doing that in this series.

While we predicted the Rockies to take the first game in the series, that is the only success they will experience. The Mets are one of the best teams in baseball at home, going 38-18 thus far in the season. Those 38 wins are tied for the third most in baseball with the Houston Astros, trailing only the St. Louis Cardinals’ 40 and the Pittsburgh Pirates 39.

The three-headed monster of Matt Harvey, Jacob deGrom and Noah Syndergaard will run roughshod through the Rockies lineup, as all three will pick up victories. The Mets will keep the pressure on the Nationals, who will have their hands full embarking on a west coast trip that starts in Los Angeles against the Dodgers.

Because of that, not only will the Mets increase their home record to 41-19 on the season, they will also increase their lead in the NL East by at least one game. The Mets have been dominant at home in 2015, and there is no reason to believe it will stop now.
