In one of Okposo’s final games before the eye injury that kept him out for nearly two months, he was able to have the best game of his career against the Penguins. On January 16th, in the Islanders’ 6-3 victory against the Penguins, Okposo was able to have an ultra-rare four-goal night.

Since then, Okposo has struggled to find his groove. In Okposo’s 12 games since returning from injury, he has only recorded four points with three goals and one assist. Okposo has been showing some signs that he could be getting ready to have a breakout game, and for him the Penguins could be the team he does it against.

Friday night figures to be a high-scoring game, and for Okposo that will be the perfect opportunity to get some confidence before the playoffs. Against the Penguins, Okposo will be able to have his first two-point night since returning from his eye injury.
