Alexei Ramirez

One of the shortstops the Mets could target in a trade is currently manning the position for the Chicago White Sox. Ramirez has one year remaining on his contract, and a $10 million team option in 2016 with a $1 million buyout.

Ramirez is coming off a second consecutive strong season for the White Sox, being named to his first All-Star team in 2014. He would be a great addition to the Mets lineup, as he would knock out two birds with one stone; the Mets other big problem along with shortstop is finding a capable leadoff man, and Ramirez can do both. He is also a slick fielder and would offer an upgrade all-around.

The only thing with acquiring Ramirez is it would cost prospects. Which ones, and how many, could determine how hard the Mets go after him. He is already 33 years old.
