The Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks wrap up their season series tonight. The Knicks have won the first two meetings of the season, already clinching the season series. The Bulls will be playing for pride in this one, but also have a lot at stake in the playoff race.
The last time these teams faced off was January 12th. At the time, both teams still had playoff aspirations. After the win, the Knicks had a record of 18-22 and were right in the thick of things. The Bulls were 19-21. Since then, the teams have gone in totally different directions.
The Knicks have struggled mightily since, turning their attention to lottery balls. They have gone 11-26 since, putting together one of the worst records in the NBA. The Bulls haven’t played great, going 19-18, but remain in the playoff hunt.

Despite all of the injuries and struggles this season the Bulls are currently holding onto the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference. They are one game ahead of the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers, who are tied for the eighth spot.
This makes tonight game a very important one for the Bulls. If they want to qualify for the postseason, they have to beat teams like the Knicks. The Knicks are playing out the stretch run of the season, giving younger players more playing time to begin evaluations for next season. The only thing the Knicks really have left this season is to play spoiler.
Will they do that tonight as they did last week against the Detroit Pistons and Miami Heat? Or will the Bulls pick up a much-needed victory and move closer to clinching a playoff spot?
