The New York Giants head into their Week 3 matchup against the Washington Redskins with confidence.

Head coach Ben McAdoo doesn’t know what it feels like to lose as a head coach, and Redskins have yet to win this season. Even though it’s early, these two teams have opposite season outlooks at the moment.

More from New York Giants

After the Redskins’ Week 2 loss to the another NFC East rival, the Dallas Cowboys, locker room scrutiny focused on quarterback Kirk Cousins’ inefficiencies emerged, per Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio.

Head coach Jay Gruden expressed his faith in the starting quarterback, per ESPN reporter John Keim. However, it’s never a good sign to hear about early dissension, especially when aimed at the field general on offense.

On the other hand, the Giants resemble a brand new team on defense after holding the New Orleans Saints to 13 points. However, the improvements have come with some blemishes on both sides of the ball.

Last week, the offense fumbled on three consecutive positions in the second quarter. Rookie safety Darian Thompson will miss the upcoming contest with a sprained foot, per New York Post reporter Paul Schwartz. Nat Berhe will likely take over majority snaps at free safety.

It’s worth monitoring running back Rashad Jennings’ hand injury, per SNY’s Ralph Vacchiano. He’s set to play against the Redskins, but it’s unknown how it’ll affect his ability to protect the Duke.

We’ll project five expectations for the Giants’ Week 3 matchup. Will New York start the season 3-0?
