The New York Giants were able to win their home opener at MetLife Stadium, defeating the New Orleans Saints. It wasn’t a pretty victory for the Giants, but a win’s a win, and now Ben McAdoo is 2-0 to start his head coaching career.

More from New York Giants

The Giants moved to 2-0 despite playing a relatively sloppy game. They couldn’t get out of their own way throughout the afternoon. They committed untimely penalties to stall drives and lost the turnover battle 3-0. They were unable to generate any touchdowns offensively, yet still came away with a 16-13 victory.

It is the first time since Monday Night Football in 2006 that a team did not score an offensive touchdown and had a turnover differential of at least -3 when the Chicago Bears defeated the Arizona Cardinals. That is the game that produced this gem of a video, as the late Cardinals head coach Denny Green exploded during his postgame press conference.

There were not outbursts like that this time around, as the Giants were able to control the game despite all of their shortcomings. With the offense sputtering in terms of scoring points, the other units had to step up, and they did just that.

The Giants received excellent performances from their defense and special teams on the afternoon, big reasons they picked up the victory. How well did they fare? Check out our team grades for the Giants from their victory over the Saints in Week 2.
