The New York Giants revealed thier NFL Color Rush jerseys and they are awesome.

The New York Giants will not be playing their mandatory Thursday night game until Week 16 of the regular season. The Giants will be facing off with their NFC East division rival Philadelphia Eagles in what could be a very important game for division and playoff implications.

The Giants and Eagles, like every other Thursday night game, will be partaking in the NFL Color Rush games. The NFL began this last season to pay homage to 50 years of the NFL being telecast in color. The results were mixed at best.

Some fans did not like the color rush jerseys, but Giants fans should really enjoy what was chosen. The Giants have decided to pay homage to their old jerseys worn by the likes of Lawrence Taylor, Carl Banks, and Phil Simms with an all white jersey with red and blue piping and trimming.

The Giants are also bringing back the helmet with GIANTS on it instead of the NY that has been used in recent seasons to go all the way with the throwback look. Check out Odell Beckham Jr. showing off the new jersey on the Giants’ official Twitter page.

More from New York Giants

The white is a change from last season for the NFL Color Rush games. Last season teams wore monochrome jerseys, which caused some problems for viewers that were colorblind. The New York Jets vs. Buffalo Bills game was difficult for colorblind viewers to watch as they could not distinguish one team from the other; the Jets wore all green while the Bills wore all red.

To avoid the same problem this season, Nike brought in doctors from Mt. Sinai Hospital to review which color combinations would cause problems for viewers. Some teams will be wearing white to avoid problems, including the Jets.

Some teams will be wearing white to avoid problems, including the Jets. In addition to the Jets, the Cleveland Browns and St. Louis Rams will be wearing white. The Browns because their jerseys would blend with the purple of the Baltimore Ravens and Rams because yellow would be difficult to distinguish from the green of the Seattle Seahawks.

The Atlanta Falcons, San Francisco 49ers and Houston Texans will be wearing white because their primary colors are the same as their opponents; the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots respectively.

The Giants, in addition to the Cincinnati Bengals, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints, and Oakland Raiders chose to wear white for their color rush jerseys. The Indianapolis Colts, Washington Redskins, and Detroit Lions will not be wearing Color Rush jerseys as they play on Thanksgiving, which is not part of the Color Rush program.

While many of the jerseys have been scrutinized, the NFL made a good decision of tweaking it if they are going to force teams to wear them.
