One could say that the 2016 season has been nothing short of one gigantic headache. But as we’ll see, there are 5 headaches facing the New York Mets that stand out. The organization must find solutions before the 2017 season.

It goes without saying that when laid down beside expectations back in April, the 2016 season for the Mets has been nothing less than disastrous. Injuries, subpar years by key players and struggling rookies, nothing has gone right for this team.

For Met fans in particular, it is becoming increasingly difficult to hold back the anger. For the moment, nearly all of the frustration is directed at manager Terry Collins, per NJ.com reporter Joe Giglio. Calls for his head are increasing in volume. According to ESPN’s Adam Rubin, general manager Sandy Alderson has proclaimed that Collins’ job is not presently in jeopardy. The key word, of course, being presently.

Nevertheless, as all the drama continues to unfold. The Mets have other headaches to deal with as the season closes, and we move onto football in New York and baseball’s Hot Stove League over the winter.

Here are the top five headaches facing the Mets.
