The New York Yankees did very well leading up to the MLB Trade Deadline, as they became sellers for the first time in almost three decades. Brian Cashman made the most of it, as the Yankees loaded up on prospects, and now have the most players on the top-100 prospect list.

That is what happens when you have the pieces available for trade that the Yankees did, as they moved All-Star level players in Aroldis Chapman, Andrew Miller, and Carlos Beltran. They also moved Ivan Nova, further opening up spots to give younger players a look.

One veteran that the Yankees were unable to move was catcher Brian McCann. The Yankees had discussions about moving the 12-year veteran. Nothing really came of those talks, and McCann remained with the team beyond the trade deadline.

But, recent rumors are that McCann has cleared waivers, making it a possibility that he can be moved through the month of August. It is clear that the Yankees are going with a youth movement, so trading McCann would fit into those plans.

With Gary Sanchez already called up, the Yankees should be looking to find him playing time behind the plate and at-bats any way that they can. They also have Austin Romine, who has proved to be better than a third-string catcher used as depth in the minor leagues.

While the Yankees do not have to move McCann and his $17 million per year salary over the next two seasons, they have players capable of replacing him if they do. The Yankees just need to find a landing spot for the former All-Star.

Here are five teams that the Yankees could match up with in a trade for McCann.
