The New York Giants had a spending spree at the beginning of the offseason. The Giants came into free agency with a ton of cap space and they were not afraid to use it. They came out firing, looking to plug some of the holes on their roster with big time acquisitions and they succeeded.

In addition to re-signing Jason Pierre-Paul, they gave him some new teammates to play alongside in defensive end Olivier Vernon and defensive tackle Damon Harrison. Along with Johnathan Hankins returning from injury, the Giants all of a sudden have a very fearsome defensive line to deal with.

That is not all the Giants did, as they also addressed the secondary. Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie too often was the only cornerback the Giants could count on, so they gave him a running mate to play opposite of him in Janoris Jenkins. The Giants added some more depth at linebacker and offensive line as well, but there is still some more work to be done.

Despite the spending spree, the Giants could use some depth along their defensive line. They could also use an offensive tackle upgrade, wide receiver depth, talent at linebacker and more depth in what is a very thin and inexperienced secondary behind Rodgers-Cromartie and Jenkins.

Will the Giants be able to address any of those needs this week when the NFL Draft rolls around? We take a crack at with a mock draft over at Fanspeak.com using their big board for the simulation. Were we able to nail down any of the needs for the Giants, keeping in mind some of their principles such as liking team captains and players who produced in college?
