The New York Giants 2016 preseason schedule was released on Thursday, and it includes the entire AFC East.

The New York Giants had their preseason schedules released on Thursday, as the NFL released who will be playing who. While the matchups have been released, not all of the times and dates for the games have yet to be announced. But, we can still take a look at the opponents for each team.

For the Giants, they will be facing some familiar faces. They have an interesting quirk in their preseason schedule this year, as they will face off with the whole AFC East. In addition to their annual matchup with the Jets in the Snoopy Bowl and New England Patriots to end the preseason, the Giants will also be facing off with the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills.

The Giants will first be facing off with the Dolphins, as marquee free agent acquisition Olivier Vernon will get to face off with his old team and teammates right off the bat. This will be the first home game of the summer for the Giants and played on August 12th.

Following that game, the Giants will take a trip to Orchard Park to visit the Bills. The Giants will be facing off with Rex Ryan for the eighth consecutive season, as he was head coach of the Jets for six seasons, and the Giants and Bills faced off in the regular season in 2015. The Giants will get a look once again at former division rival LeSean McCoy, who will be the starting running back for the Bills. This game will be played between the dates of August 18th-21st.

The Giants will then play a ‘road’ game against the Jets at MetLife Stadium. This is a luxury for the Giants, as it makes one less road trip for the team to take this summer. It also means the Giants will be at home a little extra amount of time, which the players will appreciate. The date for this game is August 27th.

The preseason finale will be played against the Patriots. This has become a somewhat annual thing, as the Giants and Patriots seem to always face off in what turns into a showcase of backup players. While that is the norm across the league, we have seen in the past Giants regulars get some playing time under Tom Coughlin if he was unhappy with anything he was seeing previously in the summer. Is that something Ben McAdoo will carry on as well? The Giants and Patriots will face off on September 1st.

We will have to wait and see as the preseason is still a couple months away. The next order of business for the Giants to prepare for is the NFL Draft, which is a mere three weeks away.
