Week 4 presents the Jets with an early opportunity to put a real hurt into one of their division rivals. The Miami Dolphins have a long history of big clashes with the Jets over the years, and in 2015, the Dolphins will be fighting for their season in their first game against each other.

In the offseason, the Dolphins made a huge splash by signing Ndamukong Suh to a monster contract to anchor their defensive line. On the other side of the ball, the Dolphins gave their quarterback Ryan Tannehill a big contract extension.

Despite being one of the big winners in the offseason on paper, the Dolphins have struggled in 2015.

In the first week of the season, the Dolphins were barely able to beat the Washington Redskins, as their offense only scored 10 points, and their defense had the ball ran down their throat. A punt return by Jarvis Landry saved the day, otherwise we may be talking about the 0-3 Dolphins.

The second week of the season was a total disaster for the Dolphins against their in-state rival the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars were able to pull off the home upset over the Dolphins with big games from Blake Bortles and Allen Robinson. The Jaguars were dismantled by the New England Patriots just one week later, as it was yet another sign that the Dolphins are not going to live up to any hype in 2015.

In their first game at home in Week 3, the Dolphins were destroyed by the Buffalo Bills who dominated on both sides of the ball in an easy victory.

With a 1-2 record and a coach that may be fired any week now, the Dolphins will be trying to keep their season alive in the tough AFC East.

Heading into 2015 most people had the AFC East as one of the best divisions in football, and so far there are three teams over .500. The New England Patriots look untouchable right now with three impressive wins to start the season. The Bills have found an offense that can put points on the board with Tyrod Taylor, and the Jets are off to a strong start after their offseason overhaul.

With three teams above .500 and a game against the Jets on Sunday in London, the Dolphins find themselves in a must-win situation. Another loss in the division would set the Dolphins back to far to be able to overcome a slow start with two games left against the Patriots on the schedule.

The Jets have a rare opportunity to be a big dog in the division and put a team that had a lot of expectations out of the picture for the time being with a win. New York had some issues in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles, as the injuries to Chris Ivory and Eric Decker crippled the offense and forced Ryan Fitzpatrick to throw the ball way too much.

It may be early in the season, but the Week 4 matchup between the Jets and the Dolphins will go a long way to shaping how the AFC East will play out this season.
