The Giants got off to a great start on Thursday Night Football, as the Redskins had their first punt of the game blocked by Rashad Jennings. Jennings burst through the offensive line of the Redskins to block the punt out of the endzone for a safety.

After the safety, the Giants didn’t capitalize on the good field position, as they punted the ball back to the Redskins after six plays.

Despite being picked up by the defense, Kirk Cousins made an awful mistake on a throw across the middle that was intercepted by Prince Amukamara. The Giants would capitalize this time around with a rushing touchdown from Andre Williams to make it a 9-0 game.

After a three and out by the Redskins, the Giants would sustain their first long drive of the game, which resulted in a Josh Brown 35-yard field goal.

In the second quarter, the Redskins would finally get on the board after a decent drive that was capped off by a 44-yard field goal. The field goal by the Redskins would start a trend of exchanging three points that continued for four straight possessions by both teams.

The Giants took a 15-6 lead into the half but holding the lead certainly had to be in the back of their minds.

To start the second half, the Giants received the ball and once again had another drive that ended in a Josh Brown field goal which was his third of the game.

After Kirk Cousins’ second interception of the game, the Giants were given the opportunity to put a dagger in the Redskins to start the fourth quarter and that is exactly what they did. Eli Manning would throw a 30-yard touchdown pass to Odell Beckham Jr. to make it a 25-6 game and virtually end all chances of a third straight game blown with a 10-point lead.

The Redskins would get a junk time touchdown against the Giants late in the fourth quarter to make the score 25-14, but the Giants were never in real danger to give up another double-digit lead.

A relatively low-scoring game would quickly see a lot of points in the final five minutes of the game, as Manning would connect with Rueben Randle for a 41-yard touchdown pass. After the Giants’ touchdown, the Redskins would take the kickoff all the way to the house for seven points.

The Giants were able to win 32-21 on Thursday Night Football in a must-win game. The NFC East is still up for grabs with the injuries to Tony Romo and Dez Bryant. The Giants may be 1-2, but they can easily be 3-0 and that should give their fans a lot of optimism about the remainder of the season.
