New York Giants Release First Official Depth Chart

With the first preseason game of the summer set this week for the New York Giants, it means we get a glimpse of the first official depth chart. This depth chart should be taken with a grain of salt, as one this early will probably be different next week, let alone when we get to the regular season.

Regardless of how it will look in the future though, this is what we have to go off of right now. It will give us a glimpse into what the Giants coaching staff is thinking in the early going with different position battles, such as the offensive line and safety positions. Also, with the number of injuries the Giants have been dealing with in the first week of camp are reflected in this depth chart, as some names listed as starters will surprise you.

Friday will be the first chance for the Giants’ players to showcase their talents in a game. How they perform this week will probably change what the depth chart looks like next week. Who will get the first crack against the Bengals later this week as the base starters? Check them out below!

There are some surprises on the depth chart, such as Donnell being listed as a backup for the first game of the preseason despite being healthy enough to practice in training camp. It will also be interesting to see how the youngsters perform in their first action, as the Giants will be starting two rookies with two more listed as backups.
