The New York Yankees have reportedly made some roster moves prior to today's game against the Baltimore Orioles. They called up their top infield prospect Jorbit Vivas, per Andy Martino of SNY. As part of the corresponding move, the team placed J.D Davis on the 10-day IL. The injury of Davis is uncertain. There will be more information to come on it later.

Vivas, 23, was acquired in a trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers alongside Victor Gonzalez for Trey Sweeney. So far, he has been killing it in Triple-A Scranton Wilkes/Barre. He owns a .404 ONP and 122 wRC+, while also getting hot over his last 20 games in which he has posted a 1.080 OPS and hit five home runs. However, he was also placed on the IL twice during his first full season in Triple-A, something to monitor as he makes his upcoming major league debut.

This could be a huge deal for this Yankees' team as they have been struggling to get some production from their infielders in recent weeks. Promoting someone like Vivas could help the team fix the issue that has been going on for a while now. He has the tools to solve their infield woes. Vivas can be viewed as a utility player where he can play both third-base and second-base positions.

Then you got his power bat. He makes great decisions when it comes to hitting. As a matter of fact, he ranks in the 68th Percentile in SEAGER and knows how to work his walks with a 17.2% walk rate. He does make a lot of contact as well, ranking in the 84th Percentile in Zone Contact Rates with a sub-20 % strikeout rate.
