Things are supposed to be really hard for the New York Knicks right now, with injuries ravaging their top players. Yet so far, the Knicks have been making a lot of noise without their injured stars.

Part of their recent success is due to rising star Donte DiVincenzo. DiVincenzo, who is entering his 6th season, is coming off a nice season for the Golden State Warriors. Last year he has averaged 9.4 points per game, 4.5 rebounds per game and 3.5 assists per game.

This season he has been giving even more than what the Knicks may have been expecting out him, which is phenomenonal.

Providing the Knicks With Some Offensive Stability

This season so far, DiVincenzo has proved to become a difference maker for the team when he's on the floor.

Currently he is averaging a career-best of 14.5 points per game. Even better, he is coming his best game as a New York Knick. On Monday he broke the franchise record for most three-pointers made in a 124-99 blowout win versus the Detroit Pistons. The record was previously held by former Knick Evan Fournier. That wasn't the only career-high for Donte. He also dropped a career-best of 40 points. He has turned out to be an underrated player for the Knicks thus far.

Turning Into A Sharpshooter That Can Help The Team Going Without Their Stars

DiVincenzo this year has been turning into a consistent sharpshooter for the team. He has managed to shoot 40% from the three-point which has been a factor yet so far. If he can continue to maintain level of shooting that would be great for the team. It would also demonstate his growth as a player, instilling confidence in both himself and teammates to perform at a higher level. More importantly, playing at this level would greatly benefit the team's offensive strategy. And that is something that's going to be a factor as the playoffs approach.

The Knicks are currently +1100 to win the Eastern Conference (tied third in the odds), but if Donte keeps it up we could see that change very quickly.
