2. Stephon Gilmore - Cornerback

The Giants' biggest hole on the defense is arguably cornerback as the team's top corner Adoree Jackson currently fields offers from opposing teams. The division rival Cowboys have had a quiet off-season as former All-Pro cornerback Stephon Gilmore is still on the free agent market.

At 33 years old Gilmore showed he's still got it ranking 37th among corners for passer rating allowed and 32nd according to PFF. Gilmore played a career high 17 games in 2023 with 68 tackles, two interceptions, and 13 pass defenses.

Signing Gilmore would give Deontae Banks a great veteran role model who can help him reach his full potential. Along with the veteran leadership, Gilmore brings to a young defense the Giants would also get a high-caliber player on a short-term contract.

With the sixth pick, the Giants are likely picking too high to select a cornerback while at 47 the Giants are too far back to land one. The easiest way for the Giants to fill this hole at cornerback would be adding a veteran like Gilmore while dealing a blow to the division-rival Cowboys.
