Yannick Ngakoue - Defensive Line

Over the years, the New York Giants have pushed hard to land Yannick Ngakoue, ultimately losing out to the Vikings and the Raiders. After breaking his ankle in week 13 with the Chicago Bears, Ngakoue is still a free agent and could certainly help bolster the Giants defensive line or edge rush room.

The Giants could add Ngakoue as a rotational edge rusher serving as insurance for Brian Burns, Kayvon Thibodeaux, and Azeez Ojulari. Despite aging, Ngakoue proved he can still be a reliable defensive player with the Bears, recording 22 tackles and 4 sacks in 13 games played in 2023.

The Giants may also opt to use Ngakoue as a traditional defensive end, putting him on the line alongside Dexter Lawrence. The Giants have been unable to find a reliable option alongside Lawrence, which was an issue they created when they traded away Leonard Williams.

Adding Ngakoue to the defensive line will give the Giants one of the best and most complete defensive lines in the NFL. If the Giants can get a productive defensive lineman next to Dexter Lawrence, this Giants pass rush has a chance to be truly special.
