Sauce Gardner burst onto the scene and has become one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL. In his first two seasons, Gardner notched back-to-back All-Pro selections, becoming the first cornerback since the AFL/NFL merger to be named a First-Team in each of his first two seasons.

The University of Cincinnati product has gone up against some of the best receivers in the league and has an idea of who New York should target in the offseason. Gardner hinted at the Jets signing Cincinnati's Tee Higgins and Jacksonville's Calvin Ridley in free agency on social media.

Sauce Gardner Thinks Jets Should Sign Tee Higgins or Calvin Ridley

The New York Jets badly need another playmaker behind Garrett Wilson. They signed Allen Lazard to be the team's No. 2 receiver, but that plan failed miserably, and they can't count on him going into the 2024 season.

With a playoff or bust campaign on the horizon, the Jets want a proven commodity in the wide receiver room. Either Higgins or Ridley would provide a massive upgrade for Gang Green.

Higgins (6-foot-4) is a contested catch monster and is 25 years old. The Clemson product has shown the ability to be a reliable weapon due to his strong hands at the catch point and fearlessness to go up over opposing defenders.

In four seasons, Higgins has snagged 257 receptions for 3,684 yards and 24 touchdowns, including two seasons with more than 1,000 receiving yards.

Ridley is a silky smooth route runner who owns a knack for creating separation. The Alabama product can run the full route tree and do damage after the catch if needed. Across five seasons, Ridley has 324 catches for 4,358 receiving yards and 36 scores.

General manager Joe Douglas would be wise to his listen to his All-Pro cornerback and target one of these stud playmakers in free agency.
