After Wednesday's Giants-Jets joint practice, everyone is talking about Sauce Gardner. The two-time Pro Bowler left Giants fans talking after he asked to evaluate Daniel Jones, and he stuttered through a laugh. Gardner started by saying he thought he was a "good quarterback" but struggled to find other kind words with which to describe him.

The viral clip got a lot of people talking. It led people to worrying that DJ and the improved offense around him didn't faze the Jets' DBs. It's safe to assume that there won't be many teams fearing the Giants when they pop up on their schedule this season.

While Gardner never said anything negative about the Giants veteran quarterback or his game, he held back from chirping him. While the Jets "won the day," it wasn't necessarily Jones's fault. Jones completed 13 of his 19 passes for one touchdown. He would've had two more if it weren't for Gardner, who was everywhere and locked down Giants rookies Theo Johnson and Malik Nabers.

While Gardner struggled to describe Jones when he took the podium, he had no problem talking about Giants 2024 first-round pick Nabers.

Gardner called Nabers "nice" and said he looks like an LSU receiver, reminding him of fellow Tigers' receivers Ja'Marr Chase and Justin Jefferson. He followed that up by saying he would be a "pretty good" player.

It's not often you get those words from a crosstown rival, and Giants fans must be thrilled to hear that their first-round pick is special from a Jets player. Gardner, one of the league's best cornerbacks, and Nabers, a rising star who could emerge into one of the league's best wide receivers, may feud on the field, but the respect is mutual off the field. Gardner may have won round one, but this is setting up a pretty good rivalry on the field and a matchup New York fans will pay attention to in the future.

Nabers told the media after the game that the dropped passes bothered him and that he was determined to be better. We'll see if the 2024 No. 6 overall pick gets the best of Gardner when the Giants and Jets meet on Saturday night in the final preseason game before the regular season. We can assume both Nabers and Sauce will at least start the game, which fans will not want to miss.
