Giants rookie wide receiver Malik Nabers is betting on himself this upcoming season and not just in the figurative sense. After being selected No. 6 overall, Nabers has his sights set on winning the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year award, but he might get some stiff competition from one of his college teammates.

Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels enters the league fresh off winning the Heisman Trophy as a member of the LSU Tigers. It's almost guaranteed that Daniels will start for Washington in Week 1, making him another viable candidate for Rookie of the Year.

After sharing the same campus as teammates, Nabers and Daniels will share the same division as rivals. If being drafted by opposing NFC East teams wasn't enough motivation to outperform one another, the former LSU stars also have a friendly wager placed on their rookie seasons.

Malik Nabers Reveals Bet With Jayden Daniels

"We’ve got a bet going for Rookie of The Year. Whoever loses has to pay $10,000 cash," Nabers revealed on The Pivot Podcast. Both players seem confident they can win the top honor for an offensive rookie, and the betting market backs up their beliefs.

Daniels has the second-best odds to win the award at +600, while Nabers is tied for the fourth-best odds at +1400, per Fanduel Sportsbook. History is also on their side as the last five recipients of this award have either been a quarterback or wide receiver.

If Nabers were to take home the award, he'd be the first Giant to do so since Odell Beckham Jr. in 2014. Plenty of comparisons have already been made between Nabers and OBJ due to their standout careers at LSU, elite playmaking ability, and flashy personalities.

If Nabers were to win Rookie of the Year a decade after OBJ, it would only make the comparisons even stronger between the two. Not to mention, it would make Nabers $10,000 richer and give him bragging rights over Daniels.
