Knicks Trade Target Openly Campaigns for Move to New York
The New York Knicks are currently sitting as the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference, but they are still looking at ways to improve their ball club. Last month, New York shipped out R.J Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, and a 2024 second-round pick for OG Anunoby, Malachi Flynn, and Precious Achiuwa.
Head coach Tom Thibodeau isn't every player's cup of tea but Raptors guard Bruce Brown may be one of the guys who would excel under Thibodeau. Brown echoed that sentiment to the NY Post before the Raptors' 126-100 loss to the Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Jan. 20.
“I play extremely hard on both ends of the floor. I can do just about whatever [Thibodeau] needs me to do.” Brown said.
“I play extremely hard,” Brown said. “I would think [I’m] the type of player that he likes.”
The Miami product was a major contributor to the Denver Nuggets on their 2023 NBA Championship run. Brown is a 3&D player who produces bigger than his 6'4 frame. His efforts led to him signing a two-year, $45 million contract with Indiana in July 2023.
Brown was recently shipped to the Toronto Raptors as part of the package that sent Pascal Siakam to the Indiana Pacers.
With the 27-year-old still on the trade block, Brown is letting it be known he would love to play in the Garden. He's constantly spoke glowing about Thibodeau.
"Every time we play Thibs I go up to him and shake his hand, just because of what he’s done,” Brown said. “Nothing but respect for Thibs.”
Only time will well but Brown is eager at the opportunity of potentially getting traded to the Big Apple.
