The New York Knicks have been one of the hottest teams in the NBA. The Knicks are sitting at 29-17 and have won six straight games. Unfortunately, one of the best players on the roster suffered an injury.

Forward Julius Randle landed hard on his right shoulder late in a 125-109 win over the Miami Heat on Jan. 27. Randle went down at the 4:27 mark in the fourth quarter. He stuck out his right arm to brace himself from a big fall when attacking the lane. He immediately grabbed his shoulder and ran to the locker room.

The Kentucky product suffered a dislocated shoulder but there was some good news surrounding the injury. It's also better that Randle is left-handed. Randle and the Knicks are optimistic that his timeline will be measured within weeks and not months.

Knicks News: Julius Randle Return Timeline Revealed

Although his injury evaluation isn't fully complete, this is some good news for the folks in the Big Apple.

The Knicks have been red-hot in 2024, logging a 12-2 record in the new year. The 29-year-old is averaging a team-best 9.2 rebounds with 24 points and five assists per game. Additionally, he's recorded 18 double-doubles this season.

Randle's presence will certainly be missed over the next few weeks but New York's mindset has not wavered. Guard Josh Hart knows it will be a team effort but he's ready to step up where he's needed.

Following the team's shootaround on Monday, the Villanova product met with reporters.

"That has us in good spirits, that he’s not gonna be out too long,” Hart said regarding Randle's MRI.

"So we just gotta make sure that we kinda stay afloat during that time. I think we have the pieces to do that. So we gotta focus on that and hopefully he gets well soon.”

With Randle banged up, the Knicks sit fifth in the East, with +1300 odds to win the conference this season.
